PTA and Courts must stay away from moral policing and banning apps: Fawad Ch

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has expressed anger over the choice to ban internet apps in Pakistan.

In a tweet, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that the courts and therefore the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) should stand back from the difficulty of banning internet apps because this may destroy the technology industry and its development.

It should be noted that the Supreme Court has taken notice of objectionable content on social media and video website YouTube, while the video app Bigo Live and online game PUBG are banned in Pakistan.

Fawad Chaudhry says that we’ve not been ready to get out of the issues yet thanks to the interference of judges in economic affairs on the idea of wrong advice.

It may be recalled that the Supreme Court has also taken notice of objectionable material on social media and issued notices to the house Ministry and therefore the Attorney General.
