Cable operators reach ‘understanding’ with KE, call off strike

Internet and television cable operators have called off the strike after reaching an understanding with KE on Wednesday.

Speaking at a news conference Pakistan Cable Operators Association Chairman Khalid Arain thanked the commissioner and therefore the Pakistan Electronic Media Authority regulatory agency chairman for his or her assistance.

“Today the differences between cable operators and therefore the power utility are resolved. During today’s meeting, the KE representative assured us that our wires won’t be cut,” he said.

“We will play our part in making the town beautiful, this work will begin soon. I hope the problems between cable operators and KE don’t arise again and our wires aren’t cut all of sudden .”

He added that after being assured by KE representative Amir Zia, cable operators were calling off the strike.

“Today’s strike from 6pm to 12pm has been called off and that we are hopeful that the necessity for this may not arise again”, he added, “If you faced any difficulties, then please accept our apology.”

A day earlier, Internet and television cable service was suspended for 3 hours from 7 pm to 10 pm in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, and Larkana.
